Day Two

Alive...and hungry!

After 24 hours add 2 tablespoons of flour and 1 tablespoon of warm water, then mix.

Think pancake batter! That’s the consistency you’re going for. Cover loosely and let Makena sit on the counter for another 24 hours.

Big changes are coming!

Feed me Seymour...I'm hangry!

Day Four

You may notice your starter has risen in the jar and fallen back down leaving streaks. This means it's hungry today!

Feed your starter ½ cup flour and ¼ cup water. Cover and let sit for

another 24 hours.

If you used a small glass and her quarters look cramped, time to move her to our Sourdough Kids Club

starter jar. It's growing up!

Some room to breathe...

Day Five

It’s almost pizza time! If you haven't already, move your starter to our Sourdough Kids Club starter jar. It also gets more food, ½ cup flour and ¼ cup water.

It'll grow fast today! Once your starter has doubled in size in 4-6 hours after feeding, you're ready

to bake your first pizza.
